Installation of a 110.5kW solar system to supply electrical power for Varennes’ new library.

THE CHALLENGE

To reach its objective of becoming self-sufficient in energy, the Varennes Library wanted to install solar panels to produce electricity, but also sought to recover heat generated in the space between the panels and the roof of its new building in order to preheat it in winter. Rematek Energy rose up to the challenge by designing a support system that would allow free heat flow under the panels while sealing the space between them and thus preventing any heat loss.

RESULT

The project was completed within budget, despite a considerable delay due to the necessity of slightly enlarging the building’s roof so that it could accommodate a solar system having the necessary capacity to allow the library to reach its NetZero goal.
