Hydro-Québec is launching new financial support programs to assist residential and business customers who want to install solar panels.

News

The financial assistance will be $1,000 per kW installed, covering up to 40% of eligible project costs, which averages between $5,000 and $6,000 for a residential customer and approximately $45,000 for a business. The goal is to help Hydro-Québec customers who want to become self-producers reduce the payback period, currently 25 to 30 years, to approximately 10 to 12 years.

This announcement is part of Hydro-Québec’s scalable solar approach aimed at reaching 3000 MW of solar power in Quebec by 2035 in a context of sustained growth in electricity demand.
